Uncoil and release frOM within

I'm writing this on eve of the new moon and the Chinese new year, whilst on a white sandy beach, and experienibg my own transformations..  

In Chinese astrology, 2013 is the year of the female Water Snake, she paves the way for re-birth, new beginnings and transformation as she sheds her skin. We will celebrate new beginnings as we come back to classes after my break and invoke the serpent power.  In yoga Shakti responsible for all creation and is the agent of all change. Shakti's most significant form being the Kundalini Shakti, Kundalini literally means coiled, and  lies coiled at the base of the spine. It is envisioned either as a goddess or else as a sleeping serpent, Kundalini is described as a sleeping, dormant potential force in the human organism. So you see the similarity between Shakti and the female water snake of 2013? 

Shakti "to be able", meaning sacred force or empowerment, is the primordial cosmic energy and represents the dynamic forces. Shakti is the divine feminine creative power, that on the earthly plane, manifests through female embodiment and creativity/fertility, though it is also present in males in its potential, unmanifest form.

Last year after Venus transit and 21.12.12 the Divine Feminine age emerged from a male, yang age for years and so now with the year of a female snake I truly feel consciousness is urging us all to awaken to our own inherent power and creation from the lotus of our being within that is in rhythm with the consciousness of the universe.  

 

 Shakti is what heals and transforms our lives when we engage in spiritual practices such as meditation, chanting, prayer, and yoga. Without shakti no creation can exist. Shakti = creative instinct underlying the cosmos and is energising force of all divinity, she is soft, feminine, flowing, playful, opening. The snake is symbolic of femininity, wisdom, spirituality, sensuality, patience, and the arts.  Combined with the element of water, this gives the energy an extra punch of heightened intuition. 

In contrast, the snake is symbolic of being very deceptive and secretive.  The snake will  targets its prey with methodical attacks.  For you this means your prey (yr sankalpa, goals, objectives, wants, desires) may not come immediately but, with devoted sadhana and disciplined actions you will eventually reach your desired sankalpa.  One thing to remember about the snake is when it is close to its prey (your sankalpa) it strikes without hesitation! so stay from in faith!

A snake coils up and this is the symbolic spiral shape that represents the understanding that everything spirals into existence….  This reveals the connection from the spiritual and unseen realm into physical manifestation.  In its hidden state, the kundalini is said to be the sheer potentiality within. The Goddess energy is always active on our behalf, maintaining all the subtle energetic processes that underlie our physical and mental structures and functions.

Ajit Mookerjee Kali the Feminine Force says  "Shakti is the Power that creates and destroys,
the womb from which all things proceed and 
to which all things return…Shakti is spontaneous 
vibration, the fullness of her blissful state and 
the outbursting of her joy compelling her
toward self-unfolding. 
Shakti is the basic desire of the universe to create.  It is the shakti that manifests in all varieties of plant, animal and human life, as well as that of planets, stars, solar systems, galaxies, and universes.  Shakti is that which animates existence.  At the basis of all life forms—whether animate or inanimate— is the desire to live and evolve. Mother Shakti (as She is referred to in India) manifests as pure creative desire.  She is the life-force that runs through our veins, pumps our hearts, and inspires our thoughts. Shakti is the spirit of wholeness manifested in all living things. In the Christian charismatic movement shakti manifests as the Holy Spirit."
